Holistic Approaches to Body Wellness

Used for centuries through Asia and the Pacific Rim the treatment of holistic medicines is becoming more prevalent within the United States. One such practice that is gaining a reputation for delivering a number of healing benefits to patients is the use of acupuncture to restore and regenerate the body and speedup the recovery process. For people that suffer with cancer the introduction of fine needles is helping to restore the immune service and diminish the effects of fatigue and loss of energy that are associated with chemotherapy.

As a stress reliever Portland acupuncture clinics are able to alleviate the tension that is generated by headaches and trauma as well as provide relief from anxiety and depression in addition to the sore muscles that have been constricted and are tight. Helping with joint pain and stiffness in the neck and back the procedure is applied as an alternative to chiropractic care, but in some institutions is given in cooperation with a spinal adjustment to help center the body and provide a complete alignment of the vertebrae and back as muscles are eased and tensions are released.

Also to be considered is the cardiovascular, respiratory, and digestive systems that each draw an enhanced benefit from the life affirming treatments that come from the orient. When used in conjunction with herbs and meditative music to calm and relax the body the practice of holistic medicine improves the overall health and well being of the individual and brings them back into a state of balance so that their energy can flow more easily.

Acupuncture For Back Pain – How to Get the Best Results

A new patient called today and asked me if I do acupuncture for back pain. His sciatic pain had gotten worse and was interfering with his golf game and sitting down. Getting this man in right away was important to helping him get better and enjoy life. The answer to the question. I think every acupuncturist has treated sciatic pain at least once in their careers and many other types of lower back pain. Denver acupuncture clinic estimates that every person will have some form of pain in their back once in their lives so it’s no wonder that Oriental medicine is a major treatment in helping with chronic issues.

I explained to this gentlemen that I could likely help him but he would need to do a little homework first so that we could have a great results. It’s important to understand what kind of discomfort you have I told him. “So first ask yourself if you have: sharp, dull, or achy pain?” Sharp often occurs only if you move a certain way while dull or achy can often be constant. That is the second step to learning about your problem – how often do you feel it or is it constant?” Also ask yourself when do you feel your pain. Sciatic pain usually makes it hard to sit down for long periods of time. If your pain occurs while doing something like sitting how long can you sit before you have pain?

It is important to know this how long. As you heal and get better you will be able to sit longer and longer. Keeping track of your sitting time without pain is a great marker of your healing progress.

I continued on with my list of questions any back patient should ask themselves. “Next, where is your back pain so you can tell the acupuncture doctor.” As humans we have an upper, middle, and lower back. We also have sciatic pain and hip pain. Frankly these are in the gluteal muscle and the sides. Your back pain can extend down into your gluteals and be only on one side. Also ask yourself does your pain radiate up or down or stay in one spot. Some people have roaming pain that moves around their back.

Fourth, “did you have any injury to your body that can be the problem?” Even an injury ten or twenty years ago can begin to affect a person as they mature or get older. It is important to keep a personal file of health records for yourself so you can remember dates that you may have been hurt. Being in an auto accident can damage soft tissue like muscle and years later this area can become stiff and even have spasms. Sports and recreation fun have their bumps too and can become a problem later down the road if you don’t seek help when the injury first happens.

Immediate acupuncture treatment for any kind of injury even if you don’t feel hurt can avoid chronic muscle pain later and allow you to continue to enjoy basketball games and football games with your kids for years to come. Preventive treatment when you get an injury can mean you are able to snow ski, water ski and do other fun activities. The gentleman came into my office the next day with his list of answers.

Acupuncture for back pain can be very effective. After the first treatment he reported that the pain was much better and that he can sit a little longer. Since any acupuncture clinic will likely ask you to do a series of visits we saw him again and found that he was still feeling a bit better. After three visits his pain was reduced greatly and his golf game was back. After five visits he can sit for a longer period of time than he has in many months. The real story here is that the man was in his late seventies!

Acupuncture for back pain can help even years after the original issue or complaint occurred. Also you are never to old to try something new – to you – even if what you are trying in thousands of years old.

Medical Acupuncture – Does it Work Or Not? The Facts

Today, people are quite concentrated on their health. Therefore, they try all kinds of activities for staying fit and getting rid of disorders. One of such activities is that use of acupuncture. It involves inserting needles inside the body. The body gets rid of the ailment when heat stimulation is, provided along with insertion of needles. Acupuncture is kind of a natural healing method and it can enhance the functioning of the body.

Therefore, acupuncture is one of the most effective techniques in the world. Today, acupuncture, is used, to relieve pain. It can ensure that the needling involved in this process activates the nervous system so that chemicals are, released adequately inside the muscles and brain. Acupuncture is widely used as an imbalance restoration technique. It can make sure that you do not suffer from any problems in digestion and production of energy. It can ensure that the body is able to carry out all the activities normally.

The technique of acupuncture functions on the energy channels known as meridians, which are rivers that move through the body. Any hindrance in the flow of these rivers causes problems with other meridians. Since acupuncture improves the biochemical balance inside the body, the healing powers of the body are, raised. This makes sure that a person is both physically and emotionally well. The internal regulating system of the body improves tremendously through generation of proper hormones and chemicals inside the body, which happens through acupuncture. Today, so many people have started trusting this system as a way to remove ailments like pain in the joints.

Acupuncture is not only, related with pain control, it can have serious implications once a trained practitioner does it. In many surgical disorders, this treatment method can provide the required support. It can be, used to rectify digestive disorders like spastic colon, gastritis constipation, and hyperacidity. Even respiratory disorders can, be cured like bronchitis, sinusitis, asthma and sore throat. Even females can use this technique to cure any kind of menstrual, urinary and reproductive disorders.

Therefore, acupuncture can make sure that you get your periods on time and do not suffer from any unnecessary pain in the periods. It’s also the right kind of treatment method for problems like tennis elbow, low back pain and frozen shoulder. If the victim of these disorders is, given medications, then they do not work that effectively on reducing the pain. World health organization has identified the use of acupuncture as an effective treatment method for various illnesses. Most of the people also fear the use of needles in this technique.

No pain is, caused once these needles are, inserted inside the body. When insertion is happening, some pain might, be felt. However, still the pain caused is not as much when a person is, injected. In injections, a hollow needle is used but in acupuncture, the tip of the needle is soft, due to which no chances of irritation on skin and bruising exist. Therefore, use acupuncture and all your troubles will be over.

Tap Your Way to Health With EFT – Acupuncture With No Needles

The other day I was perusing the television stations and I came across a fellow teaching people how to lose weight. He was teaching a technique that helps a person combat cravings. He was tapping about his face, arm and hands. Needless to say, he had my attention. I was intrigued by this idea that could lead to better health.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

The next day, I found out this form of tapping is called Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT for short. EFT is a form of alternative psychotherapy. Gary Craig developed EFT with some help from “Thought Field Therapy” creator, Dr. Roger Callahan.

From what I understand, the basic idea behind EFT is that all “negative beliefs and emotions are a result of something wrong in the body’s energy system.” By tapping on acupuncture points, energy is brought in to bring the body into balance.

Tapping Your Way to Health

The tapping actually normalizes the energy disruptions. While tapping, you’re also to say positive affirmations at the same time. This is a fantastic idea! It has been reported that using these techniques has caused change to occur in minutes.

EFT is like acupuncture without the needles. The meridians are stimulated by tapping on them with your fingers, which I like this a lot better than needles. This method is similar to acupuncture. However, there are no needles involved.

As you may well know, acupuncture has been used for centuries to treat everything from headaches to nutritional deficiencies. EFT uses the same technique except it uses the pressure and stimulus from tapping. This means you can do it anywhere at any time. There is no need to see a doctor. No need for expensive treatments. You already have everything you need to succeed at EFT!

After just a few minutes of learning this tapping technique, you can literally tap your way to health.Imagine the possibility! You can change your mood and health while waiting in line at the grocery store.

The Many Uses of EFT

There are many benefits to EFT regardless of gender or age. Some of the many benefits are:

  • Reduction and elimination of pain
  • Raised self-esteem
  • Weight loss
  • Lowered strews levels
  • Reduction in nightmares
  • Improved quality of sleep
  • Faster recovery from trauma
  • Help with depression
  • Plus many more EFT uses

EFT to me seems like a great technique. No needles and positive affirmations are great. It’s a simple and easy technique to use. Currently, I am now learning EFT and cannot wait to implement this fabulous tool into my daily life.
