When talking about royalty free images, most people automatically think of pictures where two men are shaking hands. Those images are also low quality and with pretty bad resolution which is something that puts a lot of people off. However, a lot of clever people saw the need for great stock free images that can be used for, both, personal and professional use, and have started websites that offer lots of choice between different types of images that would be a great addition to any website, blog or project that you may be working on. If you are interested in finding out where you can get these photos, just keep on reading.
Death to Stock Photos
As you can tell by the name, the creators of this website were also sick of all of the generic stock photos out there, so they decided to do something about it. They offer a service where they email you a pack of 10 photos every single month with a certain category, and all you have to do is of course to provide them with your email. Their goal is to bring you a bunch of different options that you can use for your endeavors, but since they use their own license you will have to make sure to go to their website and check it out beforehand.
This is a website that has a very strict posting schedule. We say this because every Thursday, without fail, seven new photos are released, and all of them are under the Creative Commons CC0 license. The themes of all of the photos are all completely different and always vary, which means that you will have a lot of choice, and since they are under the CC0 license as we already mentioned, you can use them for, both, personal and professional projects.
This is a one author website, which means that all of the royalty free images on this site are shot and posted by the owner of the website. All of the photos are posted by Daria and are her original works, so you don’t have to worry about not knowing the artist behind the photo and their history. All of the photos are high quality and high resolution and you can use them for anything from the landing pages on your website, to just as accompaniment for written material. They are also all under the Creative Commons CC0 license, so that is one more thing that you don’t have to worry about when using this site.
The right photo next to a bunch of beautifully written material can make all the difference in the world. Taking your own photos can be a challenge, especially if you’re not got at it and using amazing royalty free images is a great way to still include photography in your website or project and we hope that you take our suggestions above into consideration the next time that you are looking for some great images.
